A LITTLE ABOUT US
Built by a player, for the love of the game.
Before padel, sport looked a little different for me. Football had always been a big part of my life, until a stroke meant I could no longer take part. That left a gap, both for my fitness and for the social side aspect.
As I got better, I found myself drawn to padel. Before I could play, I'd turn up, watch and "referee" from the sidelines. Poorly...
Eventually, I made it onto the court myself. What started as a way to get active again quickly became a staple of my week. The quality of my padel was, and arguably still is, another matter entirely.
Padel gave me something I hadn't realised I'd been missing: a reason to get out, spend time with friends and enjoy a bit of competition. It became much more than just another way to exercise.
Then came another big change
Becoming a Dad. An incredible change, but one that inevitably meant less time on the court.
Rather than lose touch with the game, I became more and more interested in the equipment behind it.
Which racket should I actually be using? What is an overgrip? What material should my racket be made of? It felt like finding the right equipment sometimes felt more complicated than playing the game itself.
So I started researching, comparing and experimenting. The more I looked, the more I realised there was an opportunity to create something different.
However much I improve, I'm here to enjoy the game.
Where Make A Racket began
I wanted a racket with the premium materials and features you'd expect from the fancier names, without losing the forgiveness and generous sweet spot that recreational players benefit from.
That thinking became the foundation of Make A Racket.
But we didn't want to stop at simply making another racket. We wanted to think about the little things that could genuinely improve the playing experience.
Take the target on our racket. I have a habit of losing my head mid-match after an overly ambitious shot goes wildly astray, my friends never let me forget it. I wanted a visual reminder to aim, take a breath and reset. Play the "boring" shot until I settle down.
It works just as well for practising placement or as a warm-up challenge. It's those little details that make the game more fun and the improvements more noticeable.
Designing and developing Make A Racket has given me a new way to stay involved in a sport that's become such an important part of my life, even when family life means I can't always make it onto the court.
And that's really what this is all about.
What we stand for: Padel, without the fuss.
Forgiving by design
A generous sweet spot, because recreational players deserve a racket that helps them, not one that punishes them.
Premium where it counts
Quality materials and features you'd expect from pricier rackets, at a price that makes sense for the rest of us.
Made to be enjoyed
Thoughtful details, like the target, that make every session a bit more fun, however you're playing.
